Community fundraising piggy bank
Interactive donation kiosk and app for small-scale NGOs
Final Year Project
Pit-a-Pat is an all-in-one donation platform for small NGOs. It aims to strengthen community bonding and resilience by developing donation habits among the general public. Charities face the challenge of distrust and ignorance from the general public due to information overload and failures to capture attention. Small NGOs are flexible in directly helping local residents; they are closer to the people in need. Especially during the pandemic, they deliver immediate help to people. Their works deserve our recognition and support. Small NGOs suffer more from having little marketing budget and unstable funding sources compared to well-established NGOs.
Pit-a-Pat focuses on making the donation experience more accessible and transparent. By setting up donation kiosks in public train stations for every district in Hong Kong, Pit-a-Pat helps small NGOs get low-cost advertising opportunities and reach a wider donor and donee base. Each kiosk focuses on small NGOs that are active in the community. For donors, Pit-a-Pat provides a convenient and engaging experience to make donations and connect with NGOs in their community. The platform can help raise awareness of community issues and make people feel empowered by contributing to the community.

* Studies shown a thank you message that addresses the donor's name can increase the level of satisfaction. By scanning the QR code on the receipt through the kiosk, the user can get customised suggestion and the kiosk recognises the user after signing up with the mobile app.
